Wednesday

Tomorrow, my first day off in 8 days, and I have so much I need to get done to prepare for Steve coming home this weekend.... and of course for myself since I've slacked off taking care of anything but my insatiable hunger these past weeks.

It's amazing how much water a pregnant woman has to drink!! I wake up in the middle of the night ready to suck the well dry straight from the faucet.

My waterproof camera came today. Surprisingly, since I just ordered it on Sunday. Tomorrow, one last resort for my continued search of the Yashica battery that I can't seem to find anywhere. My plans are to get up super early and head out for a quick photo shooting. But it's supposed to be heavy rains and wind tomorrow (yay), so we'll see how that plays out. I plan on jumping the gun and taking a anti-vomit pill early. That way I know I'll be puke free for tomorrow.

I'm so exhausted right now, and stupid me actually thought I could come home after a long work day and want to clean the house.

pfft.

This week...

Pregnancy exhaustion is the WORST!
I have absolutely no energy. I wake up in the mornings feelings somewhat refreshed, but within 30 minutes, I'm ready to go back to bed for the day.
This morning I was so hungry, I had an Italian sub sandwich for breakfast, followed by a snickers bar.

In camera related news- I can't find a battery anywhere locally for the new Yashica, so I have to order one online.... and another camera is on its way. A waterproof point and shoot- Fuji. I got it free through work.

No new work lately. Too tired/sick to care about anything other than sleeping.

I hoard cameras.

Yashica 270- dirt cheap- was told it works...
Just gotta get some batteries and try that baby out!

Steve thinks I need help for my camera hoarding issue.

Fall is coming!

Tired. Thankfully the nausea has seemed to settle a bit. Just in time for all the back to school & fall photo sessions to start rolling in.
Come on leaves! Hurry up and get golden and crunchy!! Makes for a better ambience.

9/11

So we had an awesome opportunity to go to Rome next week, tickets and room paid for. Would have been gone for about 6 days total, taking the train from Venice to Rome to see all the beautiful landscaping... working the Misfits shows...
But... other things came up and we decided now isn't the time.

Steve was FINALLY called for the job, he starts in less than two weeks and needs lots of time to prepare for that. He will be gone for 2 months, only being home on the weekends. After that, he can put in a transfer request to the Correction Facility down in Warwick.
My overnighted passport would have cost 500 bucks, which really wasn't too big of a deal since we weren't paying for much to begin with. But it was more hassle with the time strain. I wouldn't have been able to get to the city until yesterday (Friday, my day off), and then needing to make sure the passport could be delivered by Monday was too much of a pinch since we were leaving Tuesday.
Thirdly, we found out we're pregnant a few weeks back. !! And unfortunately morning/noon/night sickness and exhaustion had struck me since last weekend. So I wasn't too sure on how I would hold up dealing with the flights and jet lag.

Rome is on our list though. Now that I've gotten myself all excited and googled everything I possibly could.

So that's an update.

And if you can make it all out...

Here's the pic of the lil nugget!
Yea, I'm not sure what I'm looking at either.

Dawn Animal Agency

Awhile ago, a photographer friend and I were driving around the back roads near Middletown, NY.
We peered off down a hillside where strangely enough, we saw a herd of zebra's, camel and horses all grazing together in this wide field.
Of course we zigzagged down back roads trying to find the route that would lead us near this unusual site.

While pulling up to this house, we then saw a huge elephant being led from a barn across the street, disappearing to a field behind the main house.

Um, what?! Where were we??!

A really nice, and somewhat on the shy side, woman came to greet us. Explained to us who she was and what she did. We were at The Sanctuary For Animals.
Be still my little heart! <-- extreme animal lover over here!

She told us how a variety of animals came to be at her sanctuary, everything from an elephant, lions, zebras, monkeys, camel... plenty of dogs and cats, and how (at the time) 10% of her animals were considered "working" animals, they were the ones they used for films and such when they were called upon to perform. The money they would obtain for their services was then used to run the sanctuary, along with the generous donations she received from the community.

We asked if we could take pictures (and we took a whooole lot!). She told us we could take them along the roadside, but we weren't allowed back in the property for legal reasons. Ya know, in case we get mauled by a hungry lion, or trampled by the elephant.

The Sanctuary For Animals

Website info on the sanctuary.

So, I would recommend anyone who is local to drive by and check this place out. The kids will love it, there is plenty to see along the road. You'll feel like you're along for a safari ride.
