1.23.11

Mastered the art of digitally applying makeup! Very proud of myself. I'll never have to worry about makeup application again! I've been looking through a lot of fashion pictures for ideas and techniques. I'll be putting up an album dedicated to that sooner or later.

I've noticed that yoga is really harsh on my shoulder and upper arms. I think I need a couple days off. I've come a long ways, so I think downtime is in order.

1.16.11

I am on a mission to get rid of things downstairs. There's 2 rooms down there, and one of them WILL be my studio! I have one couch on its way out the door. Tomorrow we're getting large storage bins, and the big closet will be empty so the treadmill can fit into there. (Apparently the previous owner had the closet built just right to fit his treadmill in it, along with a tv mounted to the wall.) At one point I thought about coverting it to a darkroom- but that will on my future project list.
It's a free for all tomorrow, anything and everything that doesn't have a place is getting kicked out of the house.

1.15.11

I don't know how to bring to my husband's attention that I want to convert his downstairs gym into my photo studio. I'm pretty sure he won't take it so lightly.
I had to do some test shots down there earlier, to gauge the lighting. I have 3 sessions coming up and two of them will be done here. Our house is big enough as it is, but sometimes I wish it was just a bit bigger.
Apparently house shopping is on our list for the spring time. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for extra studio space AND good property for an outdoor location. I'll have my work cut out for me either way. I have a vision on how I want a piece of yard to be set up for both my benefit and for a scenic photo backdrop. I plan on my outdoor living space to be Zen heaven!

Plus, I still got my dolla and a dream, too!

For Christmas I'd gotten a beginner yoga kit which comes with a dvd, obviously. If you're a beginner at yoga, I would hope one would assume you have no idea what you're doing and need some assistance.
The first time popping the dvd in, I decided to click on the more advance menu option... thinking that even though I am oblivious to the yoga universe, I could still "jump right in" to the nitty gritty section.
Pfft.
I didn't make it halfway through the 10 minute session and I was huffing and puffing away. I found myself, on more than one occasion, making involuntary squeaking noises and reaching for my bottle of water because somehow maneuvering myself between the cobra, triangle and some dog pose was exerting a bit too much effort on my, what I thought, limber body.
I'd openly admit now that I am indeed not limber in any way/shape/form. Not in the yoga universe anyways.
But it was fun, and I feel wonderful.
Today I clicked on the A.M Yoga menu option that focus's on getting your body awake and alert, slowly, after waking in the morning. This was way more soothing and relaxing and I didn't have to struggle to keep up with Rodney Yee like I did in the advanced.
So, I'd recommend yoga to anyone. It's definitely going to be a routine in my week.

1.6.11

I think my husband and I may have watched too many episodes of American Pickers. We're in a mood to collect unusual things, and decorate our home with them.

Last weekend, we went to the mall and happen to see this store that was selling really odd things. I had to check it out being they had carved elephant figures for sale... and I love anything that has to do with elephants.
To make a long story short, we ended up going back to the store after we purchased a few small items, to try and talk the store owner down on one of the things he was selling. Luckily, he was going out of business and was willing to part with a particular item that I was strangely drawn to.
We'll be going back again soon to grab a few more things that we decided we want to get. We're doing some partial redecorating to the house, and it seems we've picked unusual decor to do it with.

1.5.11

Getting a second pc hooked up in my pc room. That way I can transfer some programs to the other one, and then share a network between the two. Hopefully tomorrow I can really focus on adding the programs.
The next couple months I want to focus on getting things ready for the big shoot: Scouting out locations, getting costumes ready... etc. Going to be pretty exciting once it all really starts to come together.

1.02.11

Doing another shoot soon, trying to plan this one out to be more creative. Made some rough draft sketches today, and then attempted to create my own mini top hat. It came out good. Towards the end I got impatient. Messes and sloppyness were made. My fingers were so caked with glue that I stuck to everything.

Did some organizing. Now waiting for my hubby to get home.

1.1 part ll

Editing my butt off. Trying to catch up with stuff. My ass hurts from sitting at this pc so much lately in my spare time.
There's so many little projects I want to do, and I think this is the year to get them done. I wrote down a few shoot ideas while editing this batch of pics. I'm blaming the music I've been listening to that's been giving me these crazy ideas. My time is so wrapped up in work though, that I'm afraid to start any new projects. New projects = long hours of editing. Hours I'm not so sure I'm guaranteed. And when I get too backed up with editing, then I just say screw it and not do anything at all.
And that's not good.

So my goal this year is to be more theatrically creative. Portraits will be acceptable, but on a more creative level. I'm so ready for a change in my signature.

Happy New Year!!
